For Schools

I work regularly with schools and will always come in and meet with you and your team to discuss your referral(s) and if play therapy or counselling is suitable for the child. In some cases, another intervention may be more appropriate.

I will always need parental consent before any work can begin and will need the SendCo or Headteacher to fill in a referral form. â€‹I will also conduct a parent interview before any work begins, we may choose to meet at the school or I will conduct this over the telephone/zoom.

I will need a quiet space in which to work (preferably with access to a sink for the art materials). Sessions are 45 minutes long and I will collect the child and bring them back to class. I require at least 10 minutes between each client to write up notes and reset the space.

I bring my own creative kit consisting of paints, clay, pastels, small world figures, puppets, masks, play-dough. The option to work with the sand tray is also available.

The sessions are confidential but I will always share general themes with the school and parents and we can work out how best to support the child in school. I will always report any safeguarding issues to the DSL immediately after the session. I can attend professionals meetings and contribute to reports and reviews.

I am based in South Buckinghamshire and can travel to local schools in the area.
